Jake Zelinger is a Diablo Alumni from the wonderful Class of 2008. Through his involvement in Video Production and Diablo Heat under the direction of John Harnack, and his dedication to Drama under the direction of Kathy Harris, Jake Zelinger went on to pursue a career in filmmaking and studied Digital Filmmaking and Video Production at the Art Institute of California – Los Angeles.

 

Zelinger earned a Bachelor’s of Science and graduated with honors in 2012, earning multiple awards for his films including the prestigious award “Best Portfolio.” Zelinger then entered the workforce at Sony Pictures Entertainment in beautiful Culver City in the heart of Los Angeles. Zelinger wore many hats at Sony Pictures Entertainment and thrived in the Post-Production Sound department. Zelinger worked on many Major Motion Pictures and Television shows including Jurassic World, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Simpsons.

 

Zelinger realized his passion for education and began teaching Scriptwriting at Encore High School for the Visual and Performing Arts where he served as a Department Chair and Activities Director. Now, Zelinger has rediscovered his home at Mission Viejo High School where tradition never graduates. He remains a proud Diablo and is eager to share his expertise with the budding filmmakers, newscasters and anchors of the next generation while building the Video Production program at MVHS to ambitious heights.
